IMO you might have your left mount on the right and your right mount on the left, thereby moving the engine about 4" too far toward the front.....

 

Motor mounts are in wrong location.

 

i believe he meant the straight six was from a truck.

 

I tired the mounts on both side. The problem is the motor is bolted up to the tranny and it will not move any further forward. If it would drop 2" then it would bolt up just fine.

I don't see any pics on page 1... You could try getting a set of adjustable motor mounts if after swapping them side to side they still are a no-go. They let you move the motor up-down and left right as well as front-back.
