Question 2 row or 3 row Radiator

What's the difference between a 2 row and a 3 row Radiator and what's in a stock 65 Inline 6?

I'm not sure how many rows the I6 radiators were, but basically the more rows the more cooling capacity (to an extent).

I would think they are only 2 row. The straight six's ran pretty cool. I can look on my car this weekend if no one replies with a confirmation.

More rows = thicker radiators = more heat dissipation.

Good luck finding a 2-row if you really wanted one.

The shop near here keeps a pile of used Mustang radiators, mostly for people who want an original 2-row radiator.

Most manufacturers have dropped 2-row replacements.

Not to threadjack, but how do you tell how many rows a radiator has? This is new for me.

When I got my car I replaced the (broken) 2 row original with a new 3 row from CJ Pony parts or MU (I can't remember right now). Most suppliers have 3 row replacements that will fit in the stock location with no problem. Extra insurance to keep it cool. Unless you are restoring it concours I'd go with 3 rows.

Since these old radiators flow from top to bottom, as opposed to side to side, you just open the cap and count the number of rows.
