Default Dimmer Switch Location

Can any of you please give me dimensions of where the dimmer switch goes? I Replaced full floors and need to install my switch now.

Unless you are going for concours, you now have the opportunity to customize it to your preference...

No concours here, just wondering. When i buy the carpet will it come with the hole and grommet for the switch already in it or no? If not i will place within the area.

Mine did not. I cut an 'x' in it for the button to fit thru.

Excellent thank you man. Can any1 with 65-66 tell me if the carpet comes with a grommet or if it is installed by cutting the X

I can't say if the dimmer switch was in the exact same location on a '66 compared to '67 but here's some pics of my stock placement on my '67 if it helps

1 7/8" from wall to lower mounting hole center


Center of switch 8 1/2" up from floor seam, 7 3/4" to center of lower mounting hole

No problem, I come across that question every 3mos. and luckily took a pic when I was in there. Looking at the tape mark on my pic I think this quote
"1 7/8" from wall to lower mounting hole center" for the first pic is more like 1 3/4"
