newbie here. looking forward to getting lots of good info. just bought a 72 mustang convertible. the floor shifter is a bit loose. i bought the bushings, but i cannot figure out how to get the shift rod off. got everything off down to and including the nut. for the life of me i cannot get the shift rod off. am i missing something or does someone have the secret to get this rod off?

if i recall you need to get under the car and remove the nut. reach up around the tranny.
