seriously. If somebody was parting out a wrecked fastback and somebody want to purchase the numbers only. what would something like that cost? and if your being serious, why do you say jail.

I'm pretty sure that's illegal (someone will correct me if I'm wrong). It would make sense for it to be illegal, someone could potentially take the vin from a car that is being scrapped, steal a similar car and switch out the vin.

yeah you can't move a vin number from one car to another without potential serious consequences
just google changing vin number you'll see about a million sites saying it's illegal

If you have the title in your name and all the stamped VIN's and want to switch it to a different car that is not really a problem. It is called a rebody. I would not invite any state troopers over to watch you do it or even ask them any questions about it but yes you can do it. It would be like putting your VIN's on a Dynacorn body. To answer your question directly, I have a C code fastback title with all three under hood VIN's and I would not take less than $1000 for it.

I know of one Shelby and one K code that have been done that way. The shelby was wrecked way too hard to fix and the K code was super rusty. Find a good body and switch the VIN's out. If the car is sold it must be disclosed to the buyer that the car is a rebody.

To take a vin from a car and place it on a car that was build with a vin is illegal. The dynacorn bodies use the replacement body loop hole to use a ford vin but some states won't let that happen the state gives the car a vin.
