Default T5 conversion help

Hey guys,

I am wanting to use my 65 zbar linkage with my new t5 and late model bell housing. I bought the fulcrum adapter but it did not come with instructions. Does anyone know where to find them or does anyone have pics? thanks.

Good choice on going with the Z bar. I much prefer that to the cable. I would bolt the bell housing to the transmission then slide the throwout bearing on the input shaft. Put your early style fork on the throwout bearing and then put the fulcrum and block under the fork where it needs to go, insuring that the fork comes out of the middle of the hole in the bell housing. Mark where the fulcrum block needs to go and then drill the holes to mount the block and fulcrum. I've done them like that before and never had any problems.

Yep, that looks like the way to do this. Thanks for the reply!

I can't wait to get the t5z in. The 4speed was pushing 2,600 rpms at 70mph with the 3.00 axle! With the new .63 5th gear and a 3.55 axle I will be around 2,150. Stronger pulls through the gears and manageable rpms on the highway!

I'm sure you will like it. I love mine with the 3.55 gears and the T5.

What engine are you running? I am hooking a 347 up to this new drive train next week and can't wait to see the difference!

I read up and it said to put the spacer 1" into the opening. Same one said to place it touching the oval piece that is inside there, but that was more than 1".

BA My method will show you exactly where the block should be mounted. I would then compare that to waht the article said.

I'm running a 347 stroker and could not be happier with the whole set up.

Not as long as you operate the clutch as an adult. I got years of service out of a 2.77 3-speed, the so-called "paper transmission", and I even did some trailer-towing with it.
