Default emergency flasher problems

Ok guys heres the problem. totaly restored 65 all wiring new and working correctly. I have installed an aftermarket emergency flasher switch but its not working. I have followed the diagram from mustang assy book. like I said everything else is working perfect. when I flip the switch only the front right blinkers blinks. Now I have LED taillights and have installed the LED flasher unit. I have the regular flasher unit on the emergency unit, that when i get just one blinker working. I have tried to install a LED flasher unit for the emergency unit and I get nothing. what am I doing wrong???
Thanks
Johnny

Only your rt front blinker is connected to your flasher. Trace the wire back and reconnect it to all blinkers.

Doesn't work that way. The e-flash switch is a bypass, that uses the turn signal circuits, by bypassing them when switched on.

If only the rt front is flashing then that is what he is wired into. If he takes his multimeter and traces the rt front wires back then he will find where it is wired wrong. There is no way around the fact that the emergency flashers are wired wrong and the logical starting place is to trace back what is working to find where the others are supposed to be connected.

We had a similar problem on ours when installing an NOS emergency flasher switch. It turned out that when the brake lights were on the front right turn signal came on too. It was steady on not flashing. The problem was that the back of the switch the L and R circuits were shorting.

I should explain further what i mean by tracing it back.

Put a jumper wire inplace of the rt bulb and ground it to the body. Disconnect the plug and check for where the continuity is. Now you know what is hooked up right. This gives you a starting point. Next ground another bulb and find where continuity is for it on the plug now you know what isnt right, replete for the other bulbs. Ohm the bypass and repin as needed match to plug.

First thanks for everyones help on my switch problem. found out my problem. come to find out that the switch is a true double pole double throw switch. unlike the diagram where you connect the hot wire to one pole and lights to others. you have to jumper the hot poles together and and double up on one pole with 2 light wires. everything works great now!

Good job on finding that but I think that switch would actually be a double pole single throw.
