why doesnt someone build a stallion?

Here was my jacked up wheel well crusher. I just got her home from when I blew the drive shaft out of her, taking the tranny tail shaft with it, doing a massive burn out about 30 MPH. I was 18 a the time.

I guess I've always been a sports car guy with a stray hotrod gene, and oriented toward autocross and road-racing rather than the dragstrip, so I'm looking at things first and foremost from an all-around performance perspective. When your performance thoughts run in a different direction to begin with, it gets easy to sacrifice a bit of "conventional" appearance.
Side note - a friend of mine jacked up the rear of his '67 Mustang 'back in the day'. Turned what was a real nice driving car beforehand into something that didn't even want to go in a straight line afterward if the road wasn't glass-smooth. I drove it that way exactly twice, which was at least one time too many.

You don't need big ugly tires hanging outside the fender to go fast. Other than the chute would you really know this car ran 8.49 @156mph in the qtr? Only 346 cu in but 1005rwhp

Imagine the embarrassment someone would get with their jacked up gaudy wide tired stallion after getting completely smoked by this sleeper. There is absolutely no doubt I love sleepers. Instead of "all show and no go" to me its all about "no show and all go". The great thing is everyone has their own opinion and we're all able to find something we like.
Otherwise to get back on track, I don't think you see the clones of the stallions because the probably handled like crap and they aren't exactly pleasing to the eye. Could be why the dealer only produced a couple of them and couldn't get "franchise investments" to build more.

If you're trying to hang onto all of the 1960's/1970's character of the cars, and you can live with 60's/70's driving/handling, yes. Too bad that other than drag radials there isn't much left for this size/power car in 15" tires that isn't 20 years out of date from a performance point of view.

Cars setup like that don't handle well at all.
There is not much to choose from for a performance tire for 15 inch wheels. I did recently get some Yokohama 520 tires that alot of guys with older Porsche, BMW, etc seem to like. I know they are hot high performance tires, but they do handle really well.

My '71 handled like crap and I admit that. But man could I loose the car in a cloud of black smoke in a hurry, and no, I did not have mommy buying me new tires when I burnt those up, it all came out of my own pocket.
I'd love to build that car again, one day.......

Thanks!! Yeah, hell, it would be a fun car today, it was awesome!! I miss her terrible.
I'd be in jail now if I did now what I did back then with that car. They kind of frown upon that stuff more now and with cell phones nowadays it is harder to get away with things.
