Question Leaf Spring Light or Heavy Duty??

Hi I am looking at getting some new leaf springs for my 65 Mustang inline 6 and wondering what I should get. I have read that the Light duty springs are made for the inline 6 and that the heavy duty would raise the back end of the car. I want the heavy duty for better handling but not sure if it would offer better handling. THoughts??

well the back end of the car weighs the same no matter if its a 6 or a v8....the back end of the car is gonna raise because its gonna have new springs vs 46 year old springs...

I seem to recall the Shelby, the GT and the 271 GT had a extra leaf or something, But the 289 and the 6 were the same.

All Mustangs had a 4-leaf spring, whether they were 64 170 cars or the BOSS 429.

Unless you are planning to use dinky OEM style 6.50-14 tires, you'll want GT springs to control your larger modern radials.

Glazier/Nolan has the GT rear springs (with eye and U bolts, and shackles) for under $200.

I have 5 leaf mid-eye springs and I find them too stiff. It tends to hop in corners (the whole back) once there's a pothole or bump which I don't like at all at all. great for track I guess but not the best pick for street
If I were to redo it, I'd get 4.5 mid-eye or those GT springs.
