Default How much is this worth?

I have a 1976 Mustang II hatchback. When I bought it I didn't know that it would be such a project, so I wanna sell it and maybe get something from the 50's. So, my mustang needs a little bit of work. It needs a new speedometer, new suspension springs, new shocks, I have ones to put in, and the brake lines are blown. Does anyone know what this is worth, if anything? Also, I've heard that the mustang II's were like the worst mustangs ever. Is this true? Thanks.

The Mustang II sold like hotcakes, extremely popular in it's day. However, it was built in the 70's, an era known for low-performance and large bumpers, so they never caught on with the muscle car and collector car crowds. They do have a sort of cult following, and there is some parts availability if you know where to look. The V6 model was fairly spry, with it's factory duals and manual trans, and the V8 had a de-tuned 302 that could be modified as powerful as any other 302. The 4 cylinder was a total dog. A mach1 or Cobra in excellent condition would bring a few bucks, but they typically are not valuable.

What sort of 50's car? Unless you are doing a Corvette, Tri-Chevy, or Thunderbird, parts are going to be as tough as the Mustang II.

Well, do you think that $1800 is too much to ask for a V6 Model? Also, I found a 1951 Pontaic chieftain, that didn't look too bad.

Ya the Mustang II's were the ugly duckling of Mustangs when they came out in 74. Start at $1,800 and see where it goes.
And the Chieftain was a great car, my father-in-law had a 57 that he just sold about 2 years ago for $49,000 in that Coral color.
