As for the CFM, on the open road you really don't need a fan at all.

I'm surprised you don't have an avatar, the choices are so obvious.

That would be a great avatar.

There's always this bad boy, a complete kit specially made as a direct bolt-on for the 64-66 Mustang.

I have never looked at that fan, but I bet it is too wide since my radiator is thicker than stock and is about 3.5 inches wide.

That depends, are you at sea level. are you in a desert, is it winter, are you stuck in traffic, or at 65 on the open road.

Thanks for the link.

I want it to move enough air for the AC to work well in town or traffic in 100 degree weather.

I run the flexalite black magic but I dont have AC. But I can say the black magic is reliable and keeps my non AC 302 cool in central Ca 110 degree traffic. I also run the norther AL direct fit radiator. This fan is as reliable as your connections so crimp and solder all your termination ends and it should last many years. I got about 10 out of mine daily driven and finally the thermostat control unit failed it was replaced for about 15 bucks and took about 30 minutes. If it had failed on the street it could have been bypassed to get home as well.

Good luck

You thought who hated all this crap, 2+2?

Which black magic do you have?

I though you hated em..

I think its this one.

Again I run the norther al 1966 mustang direct fit radiator and there is very little clearance but it does work if you cut the end of the water pump shaft that hangs out past the end of the pulley. If you can get past that idea its a pretty bulletproof system.

Over the years, we have had a couple of cars that had issues with electric fans not working right. Thats why I was not really wanting one originally.

This Flex fan is really not working out all that well. Its also kind of annoying. I keep having people tell me that they fall apart too. I have read about that happening too. I need something better and that cools better in traffic and if I can get a good electric fan that fits, I will go that route.

That one is 4.25 inches thick. so it won't work with my radiator.

I only have about 3.25" clearance between radiator and water pump. I have a 4 row radiator. Anything that will work for me? I don't like the flex fan either (which I currently have), but I don't think the thermo clutch set up will work due to clearance issues.

I'm in just about the same exact situation you are. I don't think there is room for the fan clutch setup either.
