Look at my posts, you'll see I usually just say "64". It's not like there was a "64" and a "64 1/2", so I just save myself some typing. Sloppy, I know. I used to know a Ford engineer who was adamant on the subject. They were all "1965" models to him. Hey, he was there, who am I to argue.

They are making new Mustangs that comes out befor the model year and yet they will be calling them 2012. Not 2011 1/2. To me they are early 65's. MO

While the half year designation is not "technically correct", there are enough differences of significance between the "early 65s" and the "late 65s" that the 1964 1/2 term has traditionally been used for as long as I can remember.

Yea technically incorrect, but the term eliminates a lot of unnecessary explanation and misunderstanding.....

I use the 64 1/2 designation and will keep doing so, it is just easier, and when common sense is applied just about everyone gets it....

Ford WAS going to call them 64 1/2s, but the IBM computers of the day were not programed to print a "1/2" symbol for the MSO's... so they were made 65s....

I hear that!

I think what scootchu posted was funny, and it was just a joke. No need to flip out.

I don't even want to get into a debate about who acts like what.

Personally I think RatFink was just trying to get some advice from fellow classic mustang'ers on what to Maybe if he had mentioned it in his first post it woulda made more sense...

Since I am an equal opportunity poop slinger. I give you this thread by scootchu.

Slighty better because it is a vintage mustang and adds a little tech. But the title isn't even close to 7th grade and does little to help someone searching for info. It's more of a cheerleading thread than anything.

Up next would be my 'if you are going to sling poop speech'. There are times when all of us make a post or a thread that seemed right at the time because of our mood. Later on, you read it and can't believe you typed it. Brain fart, old age, caffeine call it what you will but we all do it. Shame on us if it's a habit.

I was waiting for someone to call me on that one because it was a total lie....

I wanted to add some more drama to this thread since it was starting to cool off....

Are you serious??? I mean serious?
If you are, you have missed the point entirely. First of all RatFink has every right to post that he likes a certain grill, all be it in the wrong forum, he has the right.

The point was the way RatFink responds to others when replying to their threads and how he words responses. I have said he has informative replies and replies that seem to be out of nowhere. When I replied with one of his type of responses he did not like it. That's the point.

Soooooooooooo if no one wants to see what MB wheels look like on a 67 vert then so be it. Sorry if I hampered your research.

Rumble, rumble, rumble UPS guy.....

I am referring to your accusation of his 7th grade typing while you have a thread title posted similar to above. Ironically, you don't seem to like my post either.

BTW, a better response to the black scoop thing would be---It sucks, I don't like it because it is ugly. However, It will be next to impossible to match a new hood to this paint and I can't afford to repaint the whole car. When I do, I will be sure to remove either the GT stripes or rocker moulding because having both is just, chevy.
