Default 67 fastback..Motor sitting too high

My brother broke a motor mount on his 67 fastback last summer..He just installed a new set of lakewood motor mounts and now his 289 engine is sitting way too high...I know there are some issues with getting the proper mounts for a 67 but I have never heard of anything like this..Any ideas what the problem might be?

There is only one source for correct 67 motor mounts, and Lakewood ain't it.

My understanding is if they didn't fit the 67 they wouldn't bolt up to the frame mounts as the holes are in a slightly different location?I am baffled as to why the motor is sitting higher....I am running lakewoods on my 68 with no problems..

Nope. Read the link I posted. The bolt holes in all 67-70 chassis were the same. The brackets were drilled differently in 67, setting the unique rubber mount at a different angle to reduce vibration. About 10 years ago, Anchor discontinued the 67 mount, stupidly replacing it with the 68-70 mount, because they kinda-sorta look alike. They are idiots, because instead of just listing it as "not replaced", they claim it's replaced by the 68-70 mount. You now know why I call them idiots.

I have ordered the 67 mount from several other sources, which use the 67 part number and description. You guessed it, the 68-70 mount was in the box every time.

The Lakewood will fit the 68 just fine, but then, you can get those at any Pep Boys.

because they will bolt in but not properly...he either needs to get the correct 67 engine mounts or convert the fame side mounts to the 68 style...

Worked perfectly in my 67. I had the same issue trying to find a set of motor mounts for my 67 3-4 years ago and these did the trick.
