Default Mustang Identification

Besides the warranty tag on the door is there anyother place on a 65 mustang that would have info about the car? Was the vin stamped anywhere?

Yep, it is stamped on the inner fender on the driver's side. Open the hood, and look near the shock tower.

It must be an aftermarket fender because there's nothing there. The grill on this car is throwing me off. I'm assuming the previous owner changed it to a grill with fog lights. But then I also noticed that theere is no molding on the rear quarters....Struck me as odd.

I am assuming you asked the question because the VIN plate is also missing on the driver's side door. If it isn't on the inner fender, then check your title.
On Edit: Left and right inner fenders (covered by the fenders) Front fenders, between the firewall and the shock towers. But these are covered by the fender lip. Also they may not be there, some of the factories didn't stamp them.

The visible one on the front apron, between the shock tower and the radiator support is the legal VIN.

If it is a K code car, may have engine and trans stamped with the VIN.
