Brown rust can be removed with Naval Jelly or Lime-Away toilet cleaner. After that, use Brasso with an old towel.

never dull works well too. It comes in a wad, just rip some off and rub away.

try wiping the bumper with a ball of aluminum foil dipped in vinegar, takes off some of the rust

I like Purple Polish for chrome and aluminum and other bare metals.

We use Bar Keepers Friend on our boat's stainless. I bet it would work well on chrome too. It comes in a can and is similar in consistency to Comit which is a powder. You just put a little on a damp sponge and start rubbing.

Heard good things about Bar Keepers. We use Flitz now on the polished lowers.
