where to drill hole to mount hydraulic cylinder
Hi, i just received Day's hydraulic kit for my 67 mustang. How do you know where to drill the hole in the firewall to mount the cylinder? I bought his whole kit with the offset for the factory clutch pedal. Thanks.

Your pics did not come through. Are there not any instructions? Perhaps they just forgot to place them in the box. Check their website for a copy.
For my hydraulic setup, I just lined up the push rod for the master cylinder with the mounting hole in the brake pedal so the rod is as straight as possible.

No, I never got any instructions with the kit, and hes gone till the end of the week. I would like to get this done so I can drive my car. If I can figure out where to mount the cylinder I should be able to figure the rest out myself with the info I found on here. Funny the pics don't work, they seem to be working for me on a different computer.

The hole to mount the the clutch master is between your speedo cable hole and the bolt by your steering column. It is blocked now because your car was auto, it is the 1 1/2 hole. You have to move the brake lines to make room for the cylinder.

I thought that the rod went through the firewall at a slight downward angle which would mean the you can't mount the clutch hydraulic cylinderover the factory hole or the rod from the pedal will not be pushing straight in on it. I think it will need to be higher. I would say mount the rod on the pedal and then see where it intersects with the firewall at a right angle. That is where you need to mount the cylinder.
