How to improve the look of exaust? Pics!
I just bought a 65 Ford Mustang! I will have to wait at least 6 to 7 weeks for it, because i will import it in Europe where i live. I really like this car, looks great, the only thing i would like to improve is the looks of exaust.
Right now i have two brown exausts comming out under the rear bumper. Nothing special.
Any sugestions how to do that? Photos would be great. I was thinkig putting on stainless steel tubes only, but i don't know if that's ok.

A full stainless exhaust would be fine just make sure its mandrel bend not the crush bend the crush will flow less.Stainless will cost more but it won't ever rust out. Most of us run dual exhaust with a H pipe or x pipe right after the headers.

Stainless or chrome tips would be fine. Plain steel turn-downs are all the 66 Shelby had (the 65 had side exhaust, you prob'ly don't want to do that). The GT Mustang had stainless flares that went through the panel. I gave up on headers years ago on my car. Too much effort for too little return in my case.

if its simply for the looks. as above.
where are you? slovenia or slowakia?
anyway you should have it easy to find mandrel bent stainless pipes.
just measure up what size it is. 2", 2.25" and 2.5" is most common on mustang exhaust

Yeah the proper route would be to put new exhaust on it with mufflers of your choice to get the sound that you want, then put whatever kind of tips on that you want.
The cheaper route would be to cut those pipes back, then add tips to the exhaust that's already on it. The "through the valance" look is pretty popular on the early cars, but that involves getting a new valance, and getting the valance painted.
My car has turndowns similar to this. They are even with the bottom of the valance, and can really only be seen when looking for them. They don't stick out, which is what I like.
(not my car, but they look like this.)

I bought U bends to fab up my exhaust for my old ford. (thus an excuse to post up some pics... )
The U bend route allows for a way custom exhaust, but the truth is there are lots of nice ready made exhausts made for Mustangs.
