leaky rear main seal
i believe my rear main seal is leaking. what can be done to help the leak? i do not want to pull the engine at this time. it will be properly fixed in due time, but i want to be able to deal with the leak easier for now.
bar's leaks rear main seal repair?
20W-50 or any oil thicker than 10W-40? if so, what do you recommend?
there is spotting in the driveway, not a huge leak, but enough to annoy. Thanks and as always, I appreciate the help.

Sorry, there is no magic bullet. It will leak until the seal itself is replaced. Thicker oils and additives may slow it to some degree but it will not stop leaking. If you are mechanically inclined it really isn't that bad of a job to replace.

hey guys im new here and was hoping someone could help me out , first i want to say sorry for cutting in on this thread but not sure how to get one started , I have a 1996 mustang gt, had blow by really bad, so other day i had the motor rebuilt, the shop that rebuilt it said the motor isnt the one that came out in it, anyway, got the car back and in 30 miles the seal started leaking again, took it back and they are working on it now but said they picked up 3 seals and non of them are the right one, so im wondering if differnt 4.6 motor take different rear seals or are they all the same, any help would be great thanks and again sorry for high jacking the thread
