Default My barn find

I had heard about someone stashing a bunch of mustangs years ago but had no idea just how many. What a sight to see all those stangs covered with years of dust just waiting to be rescued. My original interest was a 1966 coupe 289 I was told they wanted $1,000 for. The guy who collected all the stangs passed away quite a few years ago and now the family has decided to let the stangs go. Right away a bright red pony caught my eye even thought it was covered with dust.

It is a 1965 convertible with a 289 4 speed with console. The paint looks new under all the dust. Not sure yet what shape the top or engine is in because I haven't got it home yet. The body looks to be rust free and very straight. I get some better pictures once I get it home but here is what I saw. He still has several 66 coupes and several 67 coupes. I saw a couple of fastbacks under tarps. One was a 67 I could see.

I got the convertible for $4,000.

Wow awsome!!!! Are they looking to sell the rest of the mustangs? I would be interested in swinging by sometime for a look at them.

Yes they are looking to sell most of them. Anyway I know they have 2 1966 coupes they want $1,000 each. They got 2 1967 coupes one real nice with new paint and new interior one in gray primer. I also saw 2 fastbacks and another very nice 1965 coupe. I got pictures of the coupes if you'd like to see them.

Your 65 convertible is actually a "64 1/2" convertible.

How can you tell? Battery vents? No rolled edge hood?

Looking closer this does look like a generator.

Couldn't see that in your photos. I could, however, see the battery cooling lovers in the radiator support, which were only found on the 64 generator-equipped cars.

Also looks like a brake light switch on the master cylinder. I really can't wait to get this thing home so I can look it over.

Beveled headlight extention and no horns in the front.
