heres a video i took:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wZUq...el_video_title

cant figure out how to get my 289 to idle correctly... doesnt it sound high? after it idles for a min, it dropped to a normal lope....? i wonder why?

also does anyone else hear that knocking when i lift the hood? nothing was loose.... everything was tuned yet i still hear it... or is that normal?

and i love my exhaust.

thanks

The choke may have been on, increasing idle rpms. Where's the revs and or driveoff!!?

Choke or vacuum problems.

On first start it will idle high if the choke is on until it warms up. A normal rev of the engine should drop the rpms too.
The knocking sounds like a big exhaust leak or something.

I agree, sounds like a big exhaust leak.

most likely at the head/header gasket? or at the end of the header where it meets the flange?

That sounds like an exhaust leak to me too. I would try to snug up all of the header bolts before deciding to replace gaskets.

I also agree that the choke and cold or fast idle is why it idles a little high until it warms up.

Whats with the automatic brake pedal, and the crooked muffler? Just giving you crap. LOL... Seriously though, why is the exhaust routed under the axle like that. I bet it hangs low and is visible from the side of the car. It also looks like the turn downs are really close to the axle.

I like the air cleaner and valve covers.

Oh, get that orange can of death off of the block.
