Default '65 Window Regulator Help

Hi all, first post in a while (new house, new baby, what can I say...). Anyway, I'm slowly getting back into restoring my '65 vert and first priority is getting all the windows installed and working properly.

My question is about the regulator on the driver's side door. It's become disconnected from the scissors mechanism. I removed the regulator and it seems to work just fine, but I'm not sure how to reconnect it to the scissors.

From what I've read online it should connect with a stud on the scissors and then secure with a cotter pin. Trouble is, I can't find the stud on the scissors. The passenger side regulator is attached and working, but it appears to be attached with a rivet, not a cotter pin. Could the rivet have rusted out? If so, what do I do? I've found (and already ordered) the cotter pin, but I can't find the stud to connect it to.

I'm hoping I don't have to buy a whole new scissors mechanism, just because the stupid stud broke/rusted off....

Any help?

Just in case someone's run across this before and come up with a cheap/easy fix (instead of having to buy a whole new scissors mechanism), here's a pic of the mechanism and the regulator. Anyone know of a good way to connect these two?

...what about just buying a rivet kit and connecting them that way -- anyone see a problem with that?

Thanks JamesW, that's a great resource, but unless I'm missing it, it doesn't really address the issue I'm having. What's missing in mine is the rivet/stud that connects the scissors to the regulator. I've got the pin, just nothing to pin it to!

Well I'm just having a conversation with myself here, aren't I?

The problem I see with just riveting it would be installing both the scissors and regulator together. I'm guessing there's a reason the two come apart.

I could see if it's possible to put them in the door separately, then rivet them together -- of course then it would be a PITA to ever get them out again!
