After a new starter, new solenoid, new battery, new ignition switch, distributor cap, plug wires and new fuel pump the beast came to life. It is making a grinding noise when it is first started like maybe the flywheel/ring-gear or something is loose? It goes away after about 10 seconds and then sounds pretty good. sounds like your starter bendix is sticking.

 

Thats what I thought. It is a brand new starter from Autozone.
