Rocker panel replacement
Phil, I have never done it, but my understanding is that there is an inner and an outer rocker panel for a convertible. Not sure what car you have. Anyway, I found a junk yard place on the net that may be where you can get the panel. I would think if you have welding skills, then you just cut out the old and add the new. But, like I said....I have never done it. http://www.actionsalvage.com/am/66Mustangbody.asp
I did a little research and here's what I found out. The full or complete rocker panel is a welded 'tube' if you will and it is 75" running from the front fender to the rear wheel house. The outer rocker is the part from the 'A' post ot just in front of the door to the wheel house and it is the outer shell. It basically means you can pull the rocker panel off, and weld on the new shell without having to pull the inner sheet metal that would attach the floor pans. If I can finsih getting the old rocker off this weekend I'm going to try to get the new one on and I'll have some pictures and more information for anyone who needs them.
