Default Degreaser help...

I am trying to completely degrease the under side of my 66. I have used enging degreaser, power washer, simple green, and the grease is still hanging on. Is there something out there that really works good?????

Are you certain that your car has not been undercoated? All of the products you have listed should work. Remember that undercoating company, Ziebart? Man...that stuff was knarley...Trya small wire brush in one spot to see if it breaks it down...if not, you probably are dealing with aftermarket undercoating...

You may want to tow your vehicle to a media blasting company (Soda Blast). I've been quoted $1800 to blast my 65 coupe. Soda blasting removes everthing from the panels and frame. Lets you see the condition of the metal. I have not had anything done with soda blasting yet so I can't attest to its results. Check the phone book and local restoration shops.

I wouldn't media blast it; that's just going to expose the bare metal and promote rust.

Try some undiluted Castrol SuperClean and let it soak. It'll curl your nose hairs (so try not to breathe it), but it should loosen things up. If not, it's wire wheel time.

Scrape first, then use the degreaser. A big blob of grease (that is old and hardened) will take forever with just degreaser. Either wire bursh or putty knife.

Sounds like it might be undercoating. But if not, I had some luck with something called Greased Lightning. Sprayed it on and let it soak and then pressure washed it off - it cleaned up a lot of the grease.

go to homedepot, try chemdry stain extinguisher, oil and grease remover. Removes oil, grease, lipstick, ya, admit it, some of yuz fanatics out there havekissed the bottoms of your cars Its a non arisol concentrate, you spray on and let sit. Take it off withrags and a wire brush or plastic scraper, you should easily be able to do the bottom of your car. Did my 66 with 3 cans, and it looked great. Took it down to the oxy primer and didn't damage the paint or metal. A good wipe down the paint prep should permit you to throw on some primer or sealer. Good luck. If this doesn't clean it, then youre dealing with undercoating, yuk!
