Default Question about fuses

Probably a very simple and easy item but I thought I would ask anyway. I was changing my passenger interior courtesy light under the dash. It caused a spark and now the two lights under the dash and both courtesy lights in the door don't work. The bulbs look good, and every other electrical item in the car works but the courtesy lights (4 of them). I think the fuse or fuses are bad but I don't know how to tell. I can't find fuses in any of my catalogs, so I'm assuming they are interchangeable w/the ones sold at my local auto parts store? Also, is there a special tool used to get them out of their socket (fuses are cylindrical), or just use a sharp object to pry them out? Any other suggestions?

Thanks, just never had to mess with fuses before.

They are just the cylindrical everyday fuses. The box is located on the drivers side above the kick panel. The Dome one is a 7.5A and is the FWD most vertical fuse.

There is a special plastic tool you can use to take them out, but a screwdriver works just as well. But, by using the screwdriver you may break the glass. No problem though, the fuse is burned out anyway.

Thanks, I will try to get them out w/a screw driver and then head down to AutoZone for some replacements.

If you use a very small flat headed screw driver you can pry by the metal end of the fuse.
