Default 65 wheels sizes

I have a 1965 coupe with the 289. I have factory 14 x 5 wheels on it now and I want to widen the rims and tires. I am not sure if i should use a 14 x 6, 14 x7, or even a 15 x7 wheel. I have had several people tell me different things. I am trying to find out how wide i can go before the tires begin to rub. I would appriciate any help or insight you might be able to provide me. I am also unsure as to what the best tire size would be as well. Please help me out.
