Default shaker hood

I have a 66 coupe with a 302 and was wanting to put a shaker hood on it, but i can only find kits for 69/70 mustangs. If anyone knows how to do this or have done it, or of a kit someone makes it would help me out a lot. Thanks in advance.

Just curious as to why you want a shaker hood on a 66 with a 302. What do you have on top of that engine that will require a shaker hood?

Because they look so cool is my guess...right phz13?
Not sure anyone has retrofitted one to an older model.

Personally, I think it would look better with a 3" cowl hood, Fiberglass. Otherwise, you will be taking a chance on ruining your hood anyway, not to mention paying 500.00 bucks for the kit, and that DON'T include over another 100.00 for the seal and the flapper door.

Except cowl hoods remind me of camaros. You could retrofit a hoodscoop with a fresh air hole in the hood for some colder air than what the radiator produces...unless you drive in the rain a lot.

i used to want to put one on my 67 fastback 289. they look cool and will add some hp and torque, but i just decided to save up and slap on the novi 1200 supercharger (man does that slap ur pony's butt!). that'l add some serious power if thats what you're interested in. and i would also sugest a scoop fiberglass hood to let in some wind to cool down your motor too. gl

Hmmmmm. Well, I guess if you have the money to hang on un-usable body additions to your classic, then I guess you just need to do that. If it were mine, I would spend my money on more important upgrades.

In my opinion, on a 65 or 66 the GT350 hood looks the best. They are fiberglass and available to bolt right on.
