Default Another 4 lug question

I've noticed there are a 4 x 114.3 wheels out there for Japanese car brands. Has anyone had success with these on a 4 lug mustang?

I've heard that Datsun wheels will work, I never tried though. I just did the 5 lug conversion after awhile.

The dimensions you posted are the same as 65-66 Mustang 4-lug 14" wheels (4X4.5").

1slow67 is right about early 70s Datsun Z wheels. The bolt pattern and back spacing are the same as our 4 lug wheels. Datsun made several nice styled steel wheel designs for their Z cars. I have seen a couple of them on 6-cyl Mustangs and they look pretty nice.

I hope this helps.

Yeah, Glazier/Nolan lists these wheels, and a few others that fit the 4-bolt.

Yes, Datsun wheels will work. I have a set of aftermarket Konigs on my 65 coupe that are manufactured for a Datsun.

One thing to watch out for is the diameter of the center index. If this is smaller than Ford's, you will need to have the wheels machined before you can install them.

If it's too large, you just want to be sure the wheels are lug centric and not hub centric. That will mean they center based on the lug nuts. An example of a hub centric wheel is an old uni-lug with slotted holes and flip-flop washers or shoulder lug nuts. They depend on the center hole to index the wheel. These must fit your hubs snugly.
