Default A Flywheel MUST KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my flywheel was shot. The teeth were thrashed. I bought a replacement and then took the old one off. Then i compared the replacement with the original. I damn it!!!! i bought the one for the 50 oz imbalance.

Then i stumbled upon this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_sgiTa3gew

So, i took the ring gear off the 50 oz flywheel and put it on my 28 oz imbalance and now i have a good part.

In thinking about this, i could have just removed the gear on my original part and flipped it over and BAM!!!! repair.

It was really easy and the video is right on. I used a small mapp gas torch. didnt even need a big boy torch...

I knew they used to sell just ring gears, and I see they still do...

Buy a ring gear put in on the new flywheel and return it....

just as well that you actually replaced the ring gear. That's a lot of work just to have the same problem a short time from now when the rest of your grooves wear away or break off.
