Default 1967 quarter panel ornament removal

Seriouly? I have to remove the rear window assembly to remove these? Is there a trick?

What ornament? The only things on there should be the fake side scoops

Dont ask me why, but that's what they are called.

I call them a pain in my ****! How do I remove them in order to prep for paint.

Since they are fake, they are ornamental.

Unless you are a contortionist, and don't mind dozens of cuts on your hands and arms, you'll take the window out. Not hard to do. Remove the belt weatherstrip and the whole assembly comes out the top.

I have done it a few times by just loosening the bottom bolts for the window and reaching behind but, it is absolutely no fun and definitely takes some contortionist moves! Taking them out is definitely the easiest ... putting them back in with the window there is a big pain!
