I have a 1965 Mustang GT clone and the original owner put on the gas cap with the GT logo from the 66 mustang. I was told that the 65 GT used the same standard gas cap that year as all other mustangs...is this correct?

 

Yes, the 65 GT had the same gas cap as any other 65 Mustang.
