Default Dome light install

The last owner installed a nice new headliner without a dome light.

If I buy the kit, is this something I can install without removing my headliner? I can feel the two screws for the base but im more concerned running the wire.

The kit shows a single wire from the base with a male connection on the other end. Where does it hook up?

yes you can install without pulling headliner its safer to run the wire by removing the back seat, then cut the hole in the liner where the dome light will be get yourself a long piece of solid wire to use as a fish tape to run back to the quarter panel section and unclip the headliner from there its time consuming and you have to be careful but it can be done the red wire which will have to be extended will run down into the sill plate and you can cut and join the wire there if you dont have wiring in the sill plate then you will have to pull your door switches and join the wire in there...you can also be lucky and find that the wire is already run to the dome light , Ive gotten lucky a few times where people have put new headliner in and not put dome light back so the wire is still there but take your time or you will tear the liner

not sure of your model but on the 67 the door switch wires run inside the sillplate which is the chrome plate that runs at bottom of the door when you open it it covers the carpet edge and the sill itself, it runs the whole length of the door opening either way the plate will have to come off to run wires to the door switch itself if you have to go that far with them.. also before you buy the dome light make sure you have the door switches intact otherwise you will need to get them as well

So it actually runs from the rear quarter to the front and hooks to the door switch. Are the two door switches hooked together then?

yes they are hooked together, now thats how I do it you can also follow the instructions on cjponies website and do it that way also it makes the run shorter for the wiring but I just didnt like the idea of putting a hole in the headliner where they suggest but either way will work just read their directions and choose the way you think will be the best for you

let me rephrase that they are hooked together under the drivers side where the harness meets under the kick panel which is the plastic panel to the left of your feet under the dash area
