Default plug missing on 69 Dash Guage Cluster?

I took out my guage cluster so I can install LED lights, i noticed there is a hole where a plug would go into, I noticed alot others that are on ebay are missing a plug

I know the rectangle hole is for a wiring harness, but is there something supposed to be something in the hole next to the harness plug?

sorry for the big picture, i am using a picture from eBay

Not to hijack this thread, but how does one remove the gauge cluster? I had a gauge bulb burn out on me the other night and I want to put at least one new bulb in, if not replace all of them. I haven't even looked to be honest, so maybe you can just reach up from under the dash or something. BTW, will led's work with the stock dimmer? I'm thinking no......

why wouldnt the LED's work with a dimmer?

Also there is alot of screws that need to come out, there is a couple of hidden ones behind the dash that i didnt know about so i broken off the tabs by accident. I found this link, maybe it can help: http://www.mustangmonthly.com/techar...ent/index.html

you might not have to do everything from the pictures, but I took out alot more, because i had to fix heater controls, replacing the speaker on the dash, replacing the radio, etc...

Dash has to come out, then it's just a few screws. Change all the bulbs if you pull it .

Or you may be able to reach underneath and change the bulb. And I replaced my bulbs with LED's and the stock dimmer will not work, all on or all off.

I had a feeling LED's wouldn't work with dimmer switches, guess I'll stick to the good ol' incandescent bulbs. @Maj LED's in general tend to not work with dimmers of any kind.
