Filling sheet metal screw holes with a Mig?

Just glanced through this thread but, before you start to weld cut the ball off the tip of wire, needs to be done each time. Also, make sure the metal is very clean with no oils or any other crap. After some practice it will come to you.

Great tip 67, hopefully you figured it out. Still giving my opinion when i welded my engine bay I bought a copper spatula from HF. Held it in the back and did small tacks all around the hole, till it was fully covered going in a criscross pattern.

That copper spatula from HF is great, its helped me more than once. They also make a small magnetic 1" and a vicegrip with a copper finger that work nice. Over the last two years I've found that the welding is the last step, and three critical steps that lead to the best weld is 1) clean metal, no rust, no oil, no paint, etc. 2) good ground, always have a good solid ground 3) patience, never be in a hurry, rushed work results in warped metal.
blowthrough are usually a result of too much current, dirty metal, or not letting the metal cool down before hitting it with a welder again (cool down).
