Just puzzled by this transmission from a 1966 Ford Mustang 4 speed manual 289. I am such a newb.. freaked me out ....

That is not really a toploader imposter it is an SROD (single rail overdrive). Same general idea as a toploader imposter but it uses a rail system for shifting not a conventional shifter like a true toploader imposter. Same gearing too. 3 speed with an overdrive.

Thanks for that. I was puzzled by the shifter tube on the side.
