Default Engine Block Numbers Help needed!!!

I just bought a 1969 mustang and a 1977 mustang 2. I got two for a reasion lol, he had tryed to put a new 302 and c4 tranny in to the mustang two and it did not work. So he stoped working on both car and they sat, Untill i came along. There was no motor for the 69 and he convinced me to buy both and put the new motor and trans in the 69, after looking at both i bougth them and went to work. After pulling the motor and painting it i put it in to the 69 the pulleys were wrong on the motor, he tyred to use the 77's pulleys so off they went. I got ahold a guy with the right pulleys and he came over and check my motor to see what would fit. Told me i was right with the pulleys and said the harmonic balencer was wrong too, thinks its the wrong weight too. So Ive tryed to find an engine block date to make sure the weight due to 1980 and lower uses 28 and 50 for 1981 and above. I cant find the engine numbers there not by the starter like they should be. I did find a rebuild number but dont know who rebuild it. Is there other places I can find a date just to make sure i have the right weight? Thanks

Did you look above the starter? Take it out and you should see them hidden by the starter.

If the starter was installed there's no way to see them. The date code is the smaller numbers next to the block code.
