Default 65 mustang fastback, changes in progress need help!

Couple changes I'm getting ready to make:
#1 original 200 motor coming out, 302 going in. Edelbrock performer intake/carb electric choke. Is there anything major I will need to change to get this done? Will I need new trany or should it match up?? New motor mounts? etc....

#2 I have original front and rear end, (4 lug) 4 wheel drum brakes. Is there anyway to leave the 4 lug and get front disc brakes?? I bought rims and tires last summer for it and don't want to have to put money in the new rims and tires for a 5 lug set up... Any kind of conversion kit out there that I can get to have a little more stopping power for the V8?

You will need to replace the rear axle assembly and brakes, driveshaft, transmission, engine, mounts, cooling system, engine wiring, exhaust system, steering linkage, spindles, front brakes, and some other stuff I forgot.

Scarebird has a kit for using disc brakes and stock 4-bolt front wheels, but they are smaller than V8 brakes, and of course your 7" axle will die during your first burnout.

I'd stay with the 6, or get another car. 8 out of 10 people who do this conversion regret it.

Who has regretted it? No one I've heard on this forum. The fact is, it is expensive unless you're planning to replace the entire suspension and brakes anyway. Since most of these old cars could use some attention to suspension and brakes, I think it makes sense for someone restoring or restomodding, but not if it's a daily drive that you rely on for transportation.

The regret usually takes the form of "I wish I had just bought a V8 car".

Once the suspension and drivetrain is changed, you have a "V-8 car" with the exception of a "T" in the Vin..

I like these cars as sixers, but depending on what the owner wants, a proper conversion pretty much IS a V-8 car.

My son changed his 64 falcon from a sixer to an alum head 302, and drove it for a while with the stock suspension and brakes, I thought it drove and stopped just fine, but I guess that is just me though.

Its a worth while conversion.

Aside from the "T" in the VIN, you would never know Aprils 68' was a I6 car.
