Default carb size

i was thinking about getting a new carb and i was wondering what size to get to get max hp and not too bad gas mileage. also would suggest a holley or edelbrock carb. i heard edelbrocks were easer to work with, with less adjustments and just as good as holleys. by the way this is for a 289

Hey

check out this website: http://www.ponycarbs.com

You'll find all the information you need, they even sell carbs.

I personally would not suggest either of those for a stock set-up. Stick with the Autolite/Motorcraft 2100 for a two barrel and a 4100 for a 4 barrel.

Have to agree with Soaring on this one. On a stock 289 you won`t gain that much hp with a new carb. Stick with the Autolite/Motorcraft.
