electric fuel pump install help
Hey guys,
Now that im finally ready for the final install of my 5.0 / t5z swap, im starting to looking into electric fuel pumps as im going to need one since the engine was built without an eccentric. Ive given the site a pretty good once over, and havent seen much in the way of an electronic fuel pump installation guide (pretty much just controversy over mech vs. electric pumps), so I was wondering if anyone knew of a guide for installing an electric fuel pump on a carb'd 302 in a 65 mustang (preferably with pictures). Also, any recommendations as to what type of electric pump I should go with would be greatly appreciated. The motor is going to be making somewhere between 350-400 horsepower, and has a 600 cfm carb up top if that helps narrow down my choices.
Thanks a bunch!

What ever you pick pick a quiet one!
I have a Holley blue on mine and it is very noisy. I know I don't need the blue one as I don't need the pressure or gph it puts out, but it was free.
With the electrics you need to located it near the tank as they are better "pusher" than "puller" type pumps. It means you need to run a wire to the rear to power it.
I have my ignition wired to a relay that sends battery voltage to it. I do have a fuse and I put in a key switch on my dash so I can turn it off when I want. Some people tell you to put an inertia switch to kill power in case of an accident, I have not done this yet.
I can't find my all my pictures but here is one before I wrapped it to quiet it down a little. I fabricated a bracket to hang it in front of the tank.
