Default V8 Pitman ?

I am in the process of swapping from an inline 6 to V8 on my 65 mustang and just purchased a steering kit from mustangunlimited but now I noticed in pictures on the web i need a pitman, is this true and what does that connect to?

You need a new pitman and idler arm. The whole steering linkage needs to be replaced on a V8 conversion. The pitman arm connects to the main steering linkage and steering box.\

The 65 manual 6 cylinder pitman arm was very different than the V8, and must be replaced. The V8 has a single tapered hole to attach the center link, while the six has two holes, one for the left tie rod, and the other for the drag link.
