Default spacer between carb and intake??

Hi all....I have been looking through lots of threads on this subject, but still have a question on this subject. I am putting on an edelbrock performer 289, and wanted to put a 1" spacer between that and the 1406 carb.. I know it will fit...just wondering if I should use the open spacer, or the 4 hole one. Is there be a difference in how the engine will run??

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,
I run an open 1/2" on my junk, as my Perf. RPM has an open plenum. But, read through this CarCraft article and decide for yourself.
