Default Front suspension re install question

So i finally got around to replacing my LCAs, UCAs, springs and perches. After removing the old equipment i began installing the new stuff. Theres no motor in the car right now so theres no weight on the front end and its up on stands.

What my question is, should i wait till i have the motor back in to torque the lca to underbody bolt or can i do it once its back on the ground even without the motor?

Im guessing i should wait till the motor is back in, but just thought id ask. Thanks guys.

Both the LCA bolts and UCA caps get torqued with the car on the ground at proper ride height.

Did you remember to do the Shelby drop while you had the front end apart? If not, go do it now:P

yup i did indeed, im pretty excited to see the difference once im on the road again. i must say it took me a while to find a 17/32 drill bit that was made for a 1/2in chuck and not for a drill press..

i got the lca's hooked up and spindles back on and all the steering linkage back on. its dark now so im going to call it for the night, to be continued tomorrow!

heres a pic

still got the stock strut rods and sway bar but those will be replaced soon. i also need to buy new bump stops before i put in the UCAs

Can you explain the drilling process for the shelby drop? Starting from how you lined up the holes (a jig?). And how did you start actually drilling into the towers? I want to do this mod soon with a few other things. Thanks

Well i just read up alot on it before i did it. I used a template that i found the specs for online. While using the template i center punched where the new holes would be, pre drilled with a 1/8 bit, then finished it off with the 17/32 bit. heres a couple links for it that should be helpful.

What spindles are you using? A lot of the disc brake swap kit spindles out there use granada spindles, which use different tie rod ends than factory. I dislike granada swaps...
