A 351w will fit for sure because my 65 stang has a 351w and it is tight but I have to make accomedations to the shock towers for the headers.

The easiest thing to do is build a 347. You get your torque and it looks like a 289.

I still have my stock motor mounts in my 65 FB. I just installed a torque strap to limit engine movement. If budget is no issue for your 302, using a Dart block you can go up to 376 inches. Making 450 HP is very easy to do.

How about a 351W in a 65 convertible?

Is the convertible body strong enough to handle the torque of the bigger engine?

Thanks,
-Geoff
