Default hand e-brake

So I have been without an e-brake since i installed my explorer rear end. I have a buddy that ripped apart his fox to built a t-bucket. I was thinking about taking out his ebrake handle and cables and installing it in my 66.

Im just looking for thoughts from others. IS it a good idea? I kinda like the cleanliness of the interior now. However I would also like to have the ability to rip on the ebrake while screwing around.

I did it in my 66 coupe a few years back. Biggest issue I had/have is keeping the cables and the cross bar piece they connect to off the driveshaft in the tunnel.

I was thinking about cutting the sheet metal out of the floor of the fox body and wleding it into my car. I could install it an inch or two higher if you think that may work a little better.

Can you post a pic of yours
