Temp sending unit does not fit.

Now i have a question! The temperature sending unit will not fit into any of the holes of the new manifold. The threads of the temp. sender are too big. Do they make different size units?

i think i need the one on the right. my old manifold had an adapter that made the smaller one fit in there. I cant get the adapter out.
