66 Horn Issue
So I have verified the horn works by completing the connection between the two brushes in the steering column under the steering wheel. I also rebuilt the brushes with the spring from a pen and the end of a tube fuse. This actually works great to get the contact to the steering wheel. The problem I have run into is that the contact points don't seem to make it through the steering wheel even though I know I have really good contact with the steering wheel. Is there something I am missing under the horn ring that could solve my problem as I have tried completing the circuit on the top side of the steering wheel in every way I can think and still nothing.
The steering column may have slid down causing the distance between the steering wheel and horn contacts to become further and so the contacts dont touch the ring.
There is a bracket and the base of the dash that holds the column in place loosen the two bolts and slide the column up towards the steering wheel until the contacts touch and there is about a 1/16 ti 1/8 gap between the wheel and the column.

I found that the brushes I made are not long enough or sturdy enough. I went over to a neighbors that had a 67 set to get a better look at the brushes and looks like I am going to have to buy a new signal switch.
