Considering a Convertible Tonneau Cover
Hi Fellow Mustang Enthusiasts,
I have a question but first a little background. I have a 66 Convertible that I purchased used in 1977, it was my first car and I still have it. It's been garage kept since I have owned it in fact it has not been rained on since 1982. I recently got it back from a 13 month restoration and will be driving it once the weather here in MN gets warm again. My question is: I am considering a full Tonneau cover to keep from putting the top up and down when it is in my garage. Does anyone have experience with one of these and specifically how invasive is the install (I really don't want to drill holes in the car). There is not a lot of info on any site the carries these covers so I was hoping someone here would know. Thanks!

A very rare and interesting option, I have only seen a couple cars that had one. IIRC, There were two pin-snaps on leather straps on the dash, and, unfortunately, a snap screwed to the body near the door handle. Modern imitations may be different, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer.
I have to ask, why are you worried about not having the top up in the garage? Is there a lot of dirt in your garage? Our top was down from early June to late September this year, and we didn't have any issues. (well, besides a super stiff top)
Hi,
I made provisions for one when I restored my early 65 about 9-10 years ago As was mentioned, you do need to add a few small snaps on the top edge of the door (1/8").
I didn't know about the leather straps, I made up a couple of metal bands and attached them to the bottom of the windscreen molding. I like the look with the cover. It's pretty tight too.
