Assuming you have a V8 car (or at least the V8 5-lug front end), this is a very common conversion.

I have the CSRP SWAP.1 kit on my '67 and I'm very happy with it. Installation was mostly bolt-on (the front brake hard lines require some adjustment or replacement), and I had it done within a day.

While stopping distance doesn't really change, driveability improves by leaps and bounds. Front drum brakes tend to fall out of adjustment periodically, causing a pull while braking (especially when braking hard). Disc brakes don't have this problem. They also fare much better than drums in wet weather, and are much easier to modulate than drums.

I was initially worried about pedal effort without a booster, but after driving I decided that it wasn't really needed. Pedal effort is higher than a modern vehicle, but not as high as the manual drums, and is plenty easy to drive with.

I have the SSBC front brake kit.
Easy to install
Reliable (10+ years daily driven no issues)
Provides excellent stopping power and never comes out of adjustment.
Is not power assisted and I too also do not believe this is necessary pedal effort is completely reasonable.

I went with Master Power 13's in the front and 12's in the rear. I should or I NEED to have this stuff on before SEMA.I like the feel manual brakes so I kept that type.

I have a manual Granada conversion as well. The appropriate master cylinder is key.

I think the last time I replaced mine I used one from a mid-70's F150. Whatever it was had the same plumbing as the Mustang but with a larger reservoir.
