Default 65 66 Tail Lights

I drive my 65 quite a bit and feel the tail lights / brake lights are pretty dim compared to modern cars. I was even rear ended in it a couple years ago, fortunately the person didn't hit me too hard and their insurance company fixed me up.

Anyway I am been looking at options to brighten them up. I am thinking of one of the LED tail light kits. Anybody have experience with them or suggest a specific model they have used and like. These things are pretty expensive so some tribal knowledge would be appreciated.

Are sequential blinkers important to you?

No, to me they do not have the same impact on the stock width 65 taillights. So not a priority for me.

I had the same concern and replaced mine with Sequential LED from VA Classic Mustangs several years ago. Quick and easy and I felt a good price.

I wanted brighter and I like the sequential so that was a bonus for me.

I went with the "plug-in" non sequential assemblies that VA Classic sells. Big difference in brightness!

I went with a clear tail light lens with a red LED bulb.

Have on mine also. Are a lot brighter.

Also may want to check voltage with multi-meter may need to clean up some connections.

I put a set led taillights on mine last summer. What a difference. I also replaced my front turn signals with clear turn signals and they blink in the amber color. Got everything off E-Bay. Also make sure you get the led flasher relay for the rear signals to work. See links below.
