Default 1966 mustang upgrade

I have found a 1987 fox body mustang with a 302 and tremec 5 speed. The owner said that the previous owner had rebuilt the engine. would this motor and transmission be good for upgrading a 1966 mustang and what else would need to be changed. The mustang I'm working on has a 200 ci motor and c4 automatic.

Absolutely! Especially if all the pieces are there, computer, harness, etc. Understand you'll need to get the appropriate adapters to make it fit your 66, like tranny cross member, drive line, radiator, clutch pedal, push rod or hydr clutch, etc, etc. Good luck! Enjoy.

you should upgrade the suspension and brakes also . . this would include installing a v8 rear end but some people leave the 6 cylinder stuff on there and just put stiffer springs on.
